Get a "New House" Without the Hassle of Moving!

Most people who decide to get new windows or doors do so to improve energy efficiency, but did you realize that you can use the opportunity to dramatically change the appearance of your home? The renovations make this the perfect time to give your home a new distinctive look.

Consider replacing an existing flat window with a bay or bow window. This change not only adds great architectural style to the exterior of your home, but also transforms the space on the inside by giving the room added depth and definition. For an added touch of elegance, consider adding accent lights inside the top of the bay.

Lights above your bay window add additional style to any room.

Add a new entrance and exit to your home by taking an existing window opening and converting it to a door opening. For a truly dramatic difference, choose a new door with decorative glass inserts.  Alternately, you can close off a door opening by converting it into a window opening. You can even create a totally new opening for a window or door where there was not one before!

Plain drywall or plaster returns around existing old windows are a common sight in many Western Pennsylvania homes. While your new windows are being installed, you may want to add stained or painted wood returns and casing, providing an elegant look that is featured in many of today’s modern homes.
